The best non-playoff thing in sports is a Sunday afternoon pitcher’s duel. Here’s an ode to the 4/18/12 Phillies v. Giants game, featuring Cliff Lee and Matt Cain: Some fans like high-scoring hockey; a homer-filled night gets acclaim; but, for me, the best thing in sports: a pitcher’s duel, 1-nothing game.
